Community Foundation Development in Zambia

About this grant

The project goal is to develop community foundations in Zambia. To achieve this goal, the Zambia Governance Foundation will increase awareness of the community foundation concept in communities across Zambia. The grantee will also expand knowledge and understanding of the concept among key stakeholders and potential partners. Over the past two years the grantee has worked with communities to map their assets and identify opportunities to raise funds. In addition, the grantee has produced materials that are needed to support initiative groups to build the capacities they need to become community foundations. This grant will enable the Zambia Governance Foundation to deepen support to initiative groups in the communities identified, bolster local leadership on the community foundation concept and build support for community foundations nationally.
