Shifting the Narrative: Addressing Africa's Energy Poverty Challenge

Access to affordable energy continues to be a major development challenge facing the world’s poor, particularly in Africa. If the right policies, financing, and incentives are in place, African-led micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises could create energy solutions that will yield economic benefits for their communities while not exacerbating climate change impacts. In respone, Oxfam America seeks to influence development finance institutions’ energy investments through integrated energy planning at the national level. With this grant increase, the grantee will deepen its work on such energy planning processes by promoting collaboration among clean energy advocates in developing countries.
