About this grant
The project goal is to lay the groundwork for a community foundation movement in Chile. The Center for Philanthropy and Social Investment at the Adolfo Ibanez University will facilitate a three-phase learning journey with a group of stakeholders (foundations, social organizations, companies and community leaders) from Chile’s community philanthropy ecosystem. The aim is for the participants to fully understand the value of community foundations, identify the role different stakeholders can have in their development, establish a roadmap to promote community foundations and disseminate learnings from the process and the roadmap among a wider audience. Founded in 2015, the Center for Philanthropy and Social Investment is the first academic institution in Chile that promotes the culture and practice of strategic giving in Chile. The Center is part of the School of Government at the Adolfo Ibanez University, Chile’s leading private, non-profit university that was legally incorporated in 1988 with a mission to provide an education based on personal responsibility and freedom.
