About this grant

The State Priorities Project is a national network of over 40 state organizations that leverage state budget and fiscal analysis in order to advance poverty alleviation policies and programs. This recommendation partially supports the Alaska Children’s Trust’s efforts to formally join the national network and establish a project in Alaska. Specifically, Mott Foundation funding will enable the grantee to: 1) build a coalition of partners to create and guide the new project; 2) educate nonprofit leaders and other stakeholders about the importance of participation in Alaska’s budget and tax policy debates; and 3) strengthen the grantee’s organizational outreach and communications capacity. Based in Anchorage, Alaska Children’s Trust is a nonprofit organization that works statewide to prevent child abuse and neglect.
