About this grant

Through its Justice Accelerator, the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law has supported a portfolio of 110 justice startups since 2011 of which 75 are successfully operational in 2020. These startups provide critical services needed in the current and post COVID-19 era: help with domestic violence, access to welfare schemes, legal services for small and medium-sized enterprises, crime prevention and much more. The grantee will operate a one-million Euro, time-limited, COVID-19 Justice Rescue Fund, a program open to all its 75 Accelerator alumni, consisting of grants to support short-term expenses for operational continuity as well as training to ‘pivot’ these startups to improve their product/service, team, revenue and impact for the (post) COVID-19 era. A rigorous selection process will determine which alumni meet the criteria and get to participate. Established in 2006, the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law works to find innovative solutions to justice problems around the world.
