About this grant
The project goal is to strengthen the capacity of community paralegals in South Africa through accredited university offerings. To this end, the Cape Peninsula University of Technology will continue to offer its bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies to community paralegals across South Africa. Past support helped the grantee to organize the first and second intake of community paralegals into the course and provide them with the support needed to succeed. It did this successfully and plans to build on this momentum with its third and fourth intakes. Ongoing support will assist community paralegals from across South Africa to access the blended model of learning to obtain this qualification. The grantee also plans on undertaking research on topics related to community paralegals. The Cape Peninsula University of Technology is the largest technical university in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
