About this grant
The project goal is to promote the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by community foundations in Latin America. To this end, the Center for Philanthropy and Social Investment at Adolfo Ibanez University (known by its Spanish-language acronym as UAI) launched the program “Sustainable Communities: A Path for Activating the SDGs at a Local Level” in 2021. To date, the grantee has convened an advisory committee, developed a program framework, delivered a webinar, produced seven podcasts, written seven case studies and established an online knowledge center. Over the next year, the grantee will produce a report on the contribution of philanthropic entities to the Sustainable Development Goals in Latin America, develop a toolkit, conduct a training program for philanthropic associations, maintain an “SDGs and Sustainable Communities” website and broadly disseminate all produced knowledge resources. Founded in 2015, the Center for Philanthropy and Social Investment promotes the culture and practice of strategic giving in Chile and is part of the School of Government at UAI, Chile’s leading private, non-profit university that was legally incorporated in 1988.
