About this grant
Founded in 2001, the Global Philanthropy Forum is a project of the World Affairs Council of Northern California. The project goal is to build, sustain and continuously revitalize a learning community of private donors and social investors committed to international causes. The grantee accomplishes this through conferences, tailored programs and connecting donors to policymakers, issue experts, leaders of civil society organizations and social entrepreneurs. Over the past several years, the grantee has established partnerships and helped organize gatherings all over the world with a growing interest in participation from individuals outside of the United States. In 2020, due to COVID-19, the grantee pivoted from hosting the conference in Berkeley, California to hosting the conference virtually. In 2021, the grantee plans to organize the conference virtually, host an educational web series and continue to connect philanthropists and social investors. The World Affairs Council of Northern California is a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization devoted to engaging the public in a discussion of the transnational issues of tomorrow.
