About this grant
This grant to the University of Missouri – Columbia will enable the Missouri Afterschool Network to increase the availability and expansion of college and career exploration, financial literacy or college affordability planning by enhancing quality afterschool and summer learning opportunities for underserved youth. This project will support the grantee to: 1) increase access to college and career exploration program models for youth and families through afterschool partners; 2) implement professional development strategies for afterschool professionals to offer post-secondary exploration learning experiences; and 3) engage new and existing stakeholders to expand partnerships in college affordability planning and workforce development initiatives. The grantee will share promising practices and resources with the Mott-funded 50 State Networks and Mizzen by Mott to enhance college and career readiness initiatives in afterschool programs nationally. The grantee is also a recipient of funding from the Advancing Afterschool portfolio as a statewide afterschool network. This grant will support the University of Missouri – Columbia to build upon a specific opportunity within their state to leverage additional resources and partnerships for afterschool and summer learning programs.
