About this grant
For over 10 years, XLerateHealth has aimed to cultivate and grow impactful health care innovation throughout the country, particularly in regions where health care is underfunded and innovation is often unrecognized. While there are over 100 health care accelerators in the United States currently, the grantee was one of the first half dozen in the United States and the first health care accelerator in the Midwest/Southeastern United States. With renewed funding support, the grantee will continue to serve as an entry point for entrepreneurs working to create health care-related enterprises in Genesee County. Located in the Ferris Wheel building in downtown Flint, the accelerator aims to attract new businesses in the Flint area to spur economic growth and create job opportunities for local residents. As the regional health, science and entrepreneurial ecosystem continues to expand, XLerateHealth will play a key role in its build-out.
