About this grant
The program goal is to advance the adoption of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by supporting a community foundation in Brazil, which can serve as a model to other community foundations in Latin America. Founded in 2005, the Instituto Comunitario Grande Florianopolis is Brazil’s first community foundation, serving the state of Santa Catarina. Several years ago, the grantee began to use the the Vital Signs community data mapping and reporting methodology first pioneered by community foundations in Canada. The grantee will build an interactive community engagement platform that will link the grantee with the SDGs, in order to better address complex issues in Santa Catarina. The grantee will then implement a communications campaign to raise awareness and engage people around the region’s main issues, aligning them and their efforts with the SDGs.
