About this grant
The Michigan Municipal League Foundation is dedicated to making Michigan’s communities better by innovating programs, connecting ideas and people, serving members with resources and services and inspiring positive change for Michigan communities. Michigan has an estimated $800 million annual gap in needed investments in drinking water and wastewater infrastructure. While funding to help meet part of this gap is increasing from federal COVID-19 relief programs and state coffers, many municipalities, such as Flint, need assistance in accessing these funds due to a variety of factors, especially lack of staff capacity. This project will enable the grantee to hire and embed two employees at the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy who will target and provide direct assistance to these municipalities.
