About this grant
The goal of this project is to promote the recovery and resilience of nonprofits and communities impacted by hurricanes Eta and Iota and prepare them to respond more effectively to future disasters. To this end, the Inter-American Foundation will provide grant support, through the Partnership for Disaster Recovery and Resilience, to civil society organizations that build community resilience; mitigate the impacts of extreme weather; and strengthen the economic, civic and social ties among community members. The grantee, an independent United States government agency, was created by Congress in 1969 to channel development assistance directly to the organized poor in Latin America and the Caribbean.
