Sustainable Development Finance in South America

About this grant

The Asociación Ambiente y Sociedad is a Colombian nonprofit organization specializing in research, monitoring and advocacy related to investment and development finance in Colombia and South America. Over the last project period, the organization strengthened its regional networking to monitor international and China-led development finance institutions. Special focus was given to COVID-19 loans, energy and climate finance and the Amazon Initiative — an Inter-American Development Bank effort coordinating different streams of financial and technical assistance for the Amazon region. A database of 223 projects was built and shared with the public. Ambiente y Sociedad will continue to monitor energy and infrastructure finance, and curate its website and project database. The organization also will continue to focus advocacy on climate finance and the Amazon Initiative.
