About this grant

The project goal is to promote a community-led implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. To this end, the United Nations Foundation has launched the American Leadership on the SDGs project. The grantee will build a coalition of local multistakeholder networks, serve as a knowledge hub for U.S. efforts, elevate location innovation and action through coordinated communication and a storytelling effort, and coordinate and support new commitments and policy efforts leading to greater action on the Sustainable Development Goals from the local to the federal level. Outputs will include community-level convenings, an annual event on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, an online resources hub, storytelling, social media initiatives, research products, policy briefs and a regular newsletter. Founded in 1998, the United Nations Foundation acts as a strategic partner to help the United Nations mobilize the ideas, people and resources it needs to deliver on its mission.
