About this grant

In Southeast Asia, large-scale investments in energy and infrastructure projects have driven rapid economic growth. Still, that growth comes at the expense of the environment and of communities that suffer the impacts of resource extraction, pollution, illegal takings of land and displacement. Established in 1992, American Jewish World Service has worked to build a more just, equitable and sustainable world through community-driven change, currently supporting 541 grantee partners in 17 countries. Support to the grantee’s Land, Water and Climate Justice program efforts in the Global South will help the organization provide financial and capacity-building support to its considerable networks of rural community partner organizations who lead such efforts in South and Southeast Asia. The project team also will connect these networks to other Mott grantees active in the two regions.
