Afterschool Capacity Building

About this grant

This grant will support the Michigan Association of United Ways, which coordinates the Michigan Afterschool Partnership, to continue the development of policy, partnerships and resources to increase equitable opportunities for children, youth and families in Michigan. Specific initiatives will include: 1) increasing the reach and scope of out-of-school time program system-building efforts at a state and grassroots level; 2) building strategic partnerships with stakeholders to map resources and plan program expansion through new and existing funding streams; 3) expanding professional development and data-driven practices to promote a culture of continuous improvement to support a skilled out-of-school time workforce; and 4) enhance organizational capacity to cultivate new strategies and polices to expand high-quality out-of-school environments.
