About this grant
The project goal is to research and document best practices on innovations in access to justice in communities at the grassroots of Africa. In this regard, Barefoot Law will commence this research in Malawi, Kenya and Uganda, where the justice gap remains wide. Key activities will include: desktop and field research, learning webinars, research publications and an international conference on legal aid innovations. Barefoot Law is a Ugandan nonprofit organization founded in 2013, with the mission to get the law to protect vulnerable people across Africa. It empowers people to develop legal solutions for their justice needs through innovative use of digital technologies.
