About this grant

Managed by Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Panel Study collects detailed data on the giving and volunteering habits of several thousand American households over time and over generations. The dataset produced by the study is a comprehensive and accurate resource for measuring giving and volunteering in the U.S. and is used extensively by philanthropy and social sector researchers. During the previous grant period, the grantee collected, analyzed and disseminated the Philanthropy Panel Study data and findings. During the upcoming grant period, the grantee will continue this work and develop a new fact sheet to complement the data. Founded in 2012, the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University is dedicated to improving philanthropy by training and empowering students and practitioners to be innovators and leaders who create positive and lasting change in the world.
