Charity & Security Network

About this grant

The Charity & Security Network promotes and protects nonprofit organizations’ ability to serve communities, support peace and human rights, aid civilians in areas of disaster and armed conflict and build democratic governance. During the previous grant period, the grantee convened stakeholders, engaged in dialogue with policymakers, promoted legal frameworks that protect civil society’s positive contribution to human security, and provided legal and policy analysis on relevant issues to nonprofits, policymakers and other stakeholders. The grantee’s goals for the upcoming grant period include sharing information and analysis and convening key stakeholders on issues related to access to resources and financial services, sanctions, counterterrorism laws that criminalize civil society activities and using legal proceedings to decrease public participation. The Charity & Security Network is a project of NEO Philanthropy, a funder intermediary launched in 1983 as a Public Interest Project.
