About this grant

This grant will support the continued organizational and programmatic development of People in Need, one of the largest nonprofits in Central and Eastern Europe. The grantee: 1) provides relief and development assistance in response to natural disasters and violent conflict; 2) promotes human rights, civic engagement and civil society development; and 3) supports social inclusion and integration for marginalized groups. During the previous grant period, the grantee provided relief and development assistance in 27 countries, reaching more than 4.3 million people, including 890,000 people in Ukraine and neighboring countries following Russia’s full scale invasion. During the current grant period, the grantee will continue to respond to crises arising from war, conflict and natural disasters through its humanitarian relief programs and its support to civil society organizations working on education, human rights and social inclusion. Founded in 1992, People in Need is based in Prague, Czech Republic.
