Afterschool College and Career Readiness Initiative

About this grant

This grant to Vermont Afterschool will enable the grantee to increase the availability and expansion of college and career exploration, financial literacy or college affordability planning by enhancing quality afterschool and summer learning opportunities for underserved youth. This project will support the network to: 1) expand partnerships to increase integration of college and career readiness and financial wellness supports into Vermont’s universal afterschool and summer learning initiatives; 2) create workforce development pathways for older youth in afterschool and summer learning programs; and 3) develop resources and professional development for afterschool educators around college and career readiness and financial wellness to support youth. The grantee will share promising practices and resources with the 50 State Afterschool Network and Mizzen by Mott to enhance college and career readiness initiatives in afterschool programs nationally. This grant also will support Vermont Afterschool’s efforts to build upon opportunities that emerge within their state to leverage additional college and career readiness resources and partnerships for afterschool and summer learning programs.
