About this grant
Great Lakes Now is an award-winning monthly television program and multimedia news website managed by Detroit PBS. The television show and daily digital content are shared with public television stations in the eight Great Lakes states and two Canadian provinces that border the lakes. Great Lakes Now is also a member of the Great Lakes News Collaborative, a Mott-funded effort to bolster news coverage of Great Lakes and water issues, and is the only television station participating in the Collaborative. Great Lakes Now’s website has the most comprehensive catalog of articles produced by the five nonprofit media outlets in the Collaborative, which greatly increases the reach and readership of those stories across the Great Lakes basin. With renewed support, Great Lakes Now will increase its production of original, in-depth content and make it possible for the other four media partners in the Collaborative to share that content on their respective websites.
