Travel and Learning Fund

About this grant

The project goal is to advance the Civil Society program’s objectives and outcomes by supporting exchange, networking and interaction among key nonprofits, practitioners and experts, including Mott Foundation grantees, working in the program’s thematic areas of interest. To this end, the Institute of International Education, Inc. will operate a travel and learning fund to support individuals and organizations working on civic space, community philanthropy, access to justice or other areas of interest to the Civil Society program. This increase will accommodate increased demand from the field as the pandemic eases and travel resumes. During the grant period, the grantee will support: 1) participation in study visits and exchanges; 2) engagement in virtual and in-person conferences and other events; and 3) field studies and research projects that result in a report or publication that benefits the field. Based in New York, the Institute of International Education, Inc. manages similar funds for foundations around the world.
