About this grant
This grant supports the Council on Foundations’ Global Philanthropy Program which is framed around four pillars of activity: 1) strengthening cross-border grantmaking; 2) advocating for a global enabling environment; 3) facilitating global convenings and conversations; and 4) developing global resources and thought leadership. With previous Mott Foundation support, the grantee has produced publications on responding globally to COVID-19, conducted webinars on various global topics of interest to its members, convened funders around India’s restrictions on foreign funding and updated members on regulatory changes that affect giving to organizations in selected countries. With this grant increase, the council will be able to host a peer learning circle for its members and other foundations in North America to support philanthropy’s response to the crisis in Ukraine. This will be done in partnership with the German Marshall Fund, Community Foundations of Canada and Philanthropic Foundations of Canada.
