About this grant

The project goal is to develop and disseminate reports on U.S. nonprofit employment, wages and finances over time and in relation to other industries. During the previous grant period, George Mason University launched the project, produced annual reports, developed an interactive data dashboard and supported efforts to accelerate the release of data by the U.S. government. During the next two years, the grantee will continue these project activities as well as incorporate additional data systems and explore the creation of a network of federal officials working on nonprofit data. Established in Virginia as an independent university in 1972, George Mason University is an innovative and inclusive academic institution committed to creating a more just, free and prosperous society.
