About this grant

The project goal is to support the formation and strengthening of community foundations in Argentina. To this end, the Inter-American Foundation will provide support to three initiative groups that have a strong interest in establishing, or transitioning into becoming, community foundations. These groups are located in Moreno (near Buenos Aires), Mendoza and Neuquen. Grants of $25,000-$28,000 will be awarded to each group for planning and diagnostic activities, stakeholder dialogues, administrative and legal expenses, subgrant funds and other expenses relevant to the establishment of community foundations. The grantee will match Mott support with another $50,000 of its own funds as well as provide ongoing support through exchanges, technical assistance and project implementation management and oversight. The Inter-American Foundation is an independent United States government agency created by Congress in 1969 to channel development assistance directly to the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean.
