About this grant
This grant will provide support for the Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation’s Partnership for Ukraine program. Over the course of this grant period, Ukrainian local leaders from various sectors will undertake seven study visits, in groups of 10-15 persons, to Central European communities. The visits will focus on the topics of climate change adaptation, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, sustainable reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure, drinking water, wastewater treatment and waste management. Participants will also learn about and experience the processes of local consultation with residents. The grantee will subsequently provide project consulting, connections with Central European experts and networking opportunities among program participants and other Ukrainian local leaders. The Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation is a member of the Environmental Partnership Association, together with its sister foundations from Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. These organizations have operated as an informal network to protect the environment and support local communities since the 1990s and they were legally constituted as an association in 2004.
