City Leaders Engaged in Afterschool Reform

About this grant

This grant will support the National League of Cities Institute to engage city officials in developing high-quality afterschool and summer learning initiatives at the federal, state and local levels. Specifically, the grantee will: 1) strengthen the capacity of city leaders to partner with school superintendents and community-based organizations to support programs funded through the American Rescue Plan Act; 2) continue to raise awareness among municipal leaders in building high-quality afterschool and summer learning systems; 3) expand access to afterschool programs as part of the United States Department of Education’s Engage Every Student Initiative; and 4) work with the Mott Foundation to support future planning efforts to benefit the afterschool sector and the young people it serves.
