About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen the financial sustainability of a leading Polish foundation whose mission is to strengthen philanthropy and civil society in Poland. To this end, the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland will run an endowment-building program to raise at least $1 million and increase its total endowment to $1.8 million by the end of 2013. In addition, the grantee will strengthen its overall fundraising strategies and capacities. The grantee was established in 1998 as the successor organization of the Academy for Educational Development in Poland. The grantee provides grants, capacity-building programs, and networking opportunities to local nonprofit organizations and community foundations. Currently, the grantee is supporting a network of 42 local, philanthropic, grantmaking organizations in Poland, 20 of which are community foundations. Since 2008, the grantee has been running a regional capacity-building program for community foundations in the Visegrad countries with support from the Mott Foundation.
