About this grant
In 1999, Agir ici’s Reform of International Financial Institutions program started focusing on three main objectives: educating the public and mobilizing non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in France on international financial institution (IFI) reform issues; promoting increased transparency and accountability of the French government’s IFI policies and decisions; and analyzing selected IFI policies and programs and supporting changes to these that would increase the IFI’s ability to promote sustainable development and environmental concerns.Funding will enable Agir ici to continue educating the general public and mobilizing NGOs in France on IFI reform issues; promoting greater transparency and accountability of the French government’s IFI policies and decisions; analyzing selected IFI policies and program and advocating for reform of IFI governance, policies and lending. In addition, Agir ici will work to develop and reinforce European and international NGO alliances.Accomplishments during the past two years included increasing awareness about IFIs in France among the general public and the NGO community through public opinion outreach efforts and training sessions; securing the release of the French government’s annual report on IFIs; and attending meetings and consultations within the French government to provide information and analysis on French IFI policies and decisions.
