About this grant
The Buckham Fine Arts Project was incorporated in 1984 by a group of area artists who saw the need for an exhibition/performance venue in downtown Flint that would direct its creative attention to presenting unique and contemporary arts in all forms for the benefit of Flint and mid-Michigan. Over the past 26 years, more than 300 exhibitions of visual art; poetry readings; performance art events; and dance, music, and film presentations have taken place. Over 5,000 artists from all over Michigan have presented their work in the grantee’s gallery space. This grant will assist the grantee in continuing its monthly exhibitions, adding three more events per month, increasing fundraising efforts, continuing its quarterly newsletter, and building organizational capacity.
