About this grant
The Center for Community Change provides hands-on technical assistance in community development, community organizing, organizational development and public policy support to community groups in both the urban and rural United states.Multiyear funding will support the ongoing work of the center, including objectives related to exploring ways to expand access to jobs in targeted employment sectors, particularly construction and health care; launching a special initiative to help community groups form partnerships with community colleges and employers in the Southeast to make education and training programs more accessible; working with low-income communities in preparation for the 2003 reauthorization of the nation’s highway and public transportation law; focusing on public and subsidized housing issues; and working to combat the rise in predatory lending practices.
