About this grant
The North Caucasus Youth Peacebuilding Network, created in 2000, links representatives from youth non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in six Russian republics of the North Caucasus. The goal of the network is to channel youth activity into peaceful endeavors.Multiyear funding will support activities that include conducting train-the-trainer courses in conflict management; providing conflict management and peacebuilding programs to target groups in the region; establishing a youth center in the Prigorodny region of North Ossetia; and organizing summer camps for children.Accomplishments during the past year included supplying five offices with a coordinator, computer and Internet access; organizing a series of four train-the-trainer seminars in conflict management for 19 participants; publishing a newsletter; and organizing a summer camp with the theme of peace and ecology.
