About this grant

The recent growth of afterschool programs has significantly expanded opportunities for children and youth. Although the availability and quality of afterschool programs has increased, demand still far exceeds supply. Scaling up and sustaining successful afterschool programs will require coordinated and collaborative efforts across many public and private sectors. Statewide afterschool networks can meet this need by fostering statewide, regional and local partnerships at all levels; securing resources needed to sustain new and existing school-based/school-linked afterschool programs; and ensuring program quality.Multiyear funding will support a national network and learning community of Mott-funded, statewide afterschool networks. Four national meetings will provide opportunities to network with peers and experts on how best to share resources and best practices; build bridges to and between federal, state and local afterschool initiatives; and forge partnerships necessary for comprehensive statewide afterschool policies.Collaborative Communications Group is a team of professionals who use innovative communication strategies, products and technologies to bring together people for the improvement of organizations, schools and communities.
