About this grant
In February 2003, Governor Jennifer Granholm formed the bipartisan Michigan Land Use Leadership Council to address the trends, causes, and consequences of unmanaged growth and development in Michigan. The council has completed its efforts, culminating in a report containing 150 policy recommendations for the Governor and legislature that are designed to minimize the negative economic and environmental impacts of sprawling development in Michigan. With this grant increase, the Council of Michigan Foundations will undertake a variety of activities to disseminate the key findings of the report.
