About this grant
The program goal is to foster the development of community foundations in Ukraine. Through this program, Ednannia will seek to strengthen the capacity and practice of local philanthropic organizations. It will provide technical assistance and networking opportunities to existing and emerging community philanthropy organizations in Ukraine and will also facilitate peer exchanges and mentoring opportunities with partners in neighboring countries. The grantee will also launch a matching grants program to stimulate local giving for the institutional development and operating expenses of Ukrainian community foundations. In 2010-2011, the grantee successfully developed a range of capacity building materials and initiatives for potential community foundations in Ukraine, resulting in the emergence of four strong pilot foundations. Established as an indigenous grantmaker in 1999, Ednannia is well regarded for its rigorous, transparent, responsive, and effective grantmaking in support of community-level, grassroots organizations throughout Ukraine.
