About this grant
The program goal is to foster the development of community foundations in Ukraine. Ednannia will seek to strengthen the capacity and practice of local philanthropic organizations. It will provide technical assistance and networking opportunities to existing and emerging community philanthropy organizations in Ukraine and will facilitate peer exchanges and mentoring opportunities with partners in neighboring countries. The grantee will also make grants to community foundations for a variety of purposes including matching local giving and capacity development. In 2011-2013, the grantee increased its support from 4 to 21 emerging and developing community foundations. Collectively, these organizations raised over $750,000 in cash and in-kind donations, and in addition to operational programs, they distributed over $75,000 in grants. Established as an indigenous grantmaker in 1999, Ednannia is well regarded for its rigorous, transparent, responsive, and effective grantmaking in support of community-level, grassroots organizations throughout Ukraine.
