About this grant
In 1998, the European Natural Heritage Fund began examining the investments of German private financial institutions, some of the world’s largest investors in Central/Eastern Europe and other developing countries.Multiyear funding will support activities that include engaging academic communities; cooperating with the United Nations Environment Program; promoting environmentally and socially responsible investment; and conducting research on environmental criteria in the banking field.During the past two years, activities included strengthening key partnerships; organizing a workshop for German, Swiss and English financial institutions to provide information on the new pension fund legislation in Germany; and conducting a survey of the German banking sector.
