About this grant

The Hungarian Federation of Community Schools, established in 1996, provides professional support to existing community schools as well as to other schools interested in becoming community schools. The federation provides capacity-building opportunities for community schools and promotes the concept of community schools at the national and regional level.Multiyear funding will support activities that include offering a 120-hour, comprehensive training course for future school managers; developing two advanced community schools to act as county support centers for less experienced schools and school managers in the area; and working with universities to design a university course for school managers.Recent achievements included promoting a change in the Public Education Law in Hungary; changing the federation’s organizational structure in response to the growing membership and increased interest in community schools; and advocating for community education internationally.
