About this grant

In 1992, Flint and Togliatti, Russia established a sister city relationship for the exchange of social, cultural and economic information. Since then, the sister city relationship has become an important part of both city’s strategic plans for the future. Strong business, educational and cultural ties have been formed, with many of Flint’s key institutions involved in the exchange process.Funding will enable a delegation of 19 representatives of Flint’s business, education and cultural communities to visit Togliatti to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the relationship and witness the opening of the first General Motors plant in Russia. In return, a delegation from Russia will visit Flint.The Genesee Chamber Foundation is a nonprofit organization established to receive and administer funds for education, scientific and charitable purposes and for the public welfare of Genesee County.
