This grant increase to the Flint Cultural Center Foundation will provide additional funding for the design and renovation of the Sloan Museum, which will now be called the Sloan Museum of Discovery. The funds will support design development activities including construction costs, general contractor fees, and exhibit construction and installation costs. The new museum building will feature over 42,000 square feet of additional space and programming to benefit the region. The new design incorporates a variety of areas for young children and K-12 students by bringing a science center and history museum together under one roof. This new vision encourages discovery by embracing technology, incorporating advanced design thinking, and creating interactive history and science experiences.
