About this grant
The Flint Institute of Arts, located on the Flint Cultural Center campus, features museum galleries, an art school and studio space and public areas that engage patrons and attract new audiences from across the region. Students and adults visit the galleries, participate in educational programs, take art classes or attend events held at the institute. The two newest galleries and the hot glass studio and foundry have increased regional interest in the Flint Institute of Arts as an arts destination, particularly for those interested in contemporary crafts and glassmaking. This grant will provide operating support to enable the grantee to present new exhibits that inspire and stimulate visitors, provide educational programming to area students, offer instruction in various art mediums to people of all ages and maintain its facilities.
