About this grant

"On the Line: The Pursuit of Justice," scheduled to premier in spring 2004 at the Flint Institute of Arts (FIA), includes approximately 150 award-winning images by more than 20 world-renowned photographers selected by five international curators. Through photography, text and panel discussions, the exhibit will explore global efforts to achieve human and civil rights.Funding will support the research, planning and development phase of the project. FIA will contract the services of Geno Rodriguez, founder and director of The Alternative Museum in New York City, who will act as chief curator, conduct research, compile the exhibition and accompanying catalogue, and assist in the development of related programs.FIA, founded in 1928 as a community art center, provides annual programs and services for Flint area children and adults.
