About this grant

The goal of the Parade of Festivals, launched in 1999, is to enhance the image of downtown Flint as a safe and enjoyable place by maximizing the impact of established events and cultivating newer and smaller events.Funding will support goals that include providing financial support to events that are free and open to the public; continuing a lunchtime concert series, "Tunes at Noon"; and promoting positive activities in the downtown area. The Parade of Festivals will include weekend family-oriented events on the University of Michigan-Flint campus and nine multiday festivals such as the Flint Jazz Festival and the Quilts at the Crossroads Festival.
