About this grant
The Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities serves communities in northwest Michigan to achieve a more sustainable and resilient future by supporting environmental protection; sustainable economic development; smart transportation; and healthy, local food initiatives. Their Great Lakes Business Network project was launched to elevate the voices of Michigan business leaders on key, Great Lakes issues. The project has proven successful, and with this grant, the grantee will develop a strategic plan to expand the membership of the Great Lakes Business Network and address an expanded range of issues. The grantee has focused initially around concerns about the oil pipeline crossing the Straits of Mackinac. The new plan will help identify and address additional issues.
