About this grant

The Institute for Policy Studies works in collaboration with non-governmental organizations, academics, parliamentarians and other stakeholders to promote financing for sustainable energy and to develop alternative proposals for the future of the global economy based on environmental sustainability, democracy and economic fairness. The development of these alternatives will provide for broad-based stakeholder input into discussions taking place at the World Bank, World Trade Organization and other trade negotiations, such as the Free Trade Area for the Americas. This grant to the institute will support ongoing research, networking, citizen education and media outreach on the environmental and community impacts of energy and extractive industry projects financed by international financial institutions and facilitated by global, regional and bilateral trade agreements.
