About this grant
This grant will support a study by the Institute for Responsive Education to research the scope of family engagement efforts in afterschool programs. The purpose of this research project is to examine the aspects of afterschool activities and services that effectively promote family engagement. Work will include assembling data on afterschool programs with family engagement components currently in operation and identifying best practices. The final report will provide afterschool practitioners with essential and practical information to use as they create new programs and redesign existing programs with a focus on meaningful family engagement and partnership activities – a proven asset in better student outcomes. This information will also be useful in identifying future grantmaking.
