About this grant
The mission of the International Center for Transitional Justice is to assist countries in responding to a legacy of human rights abuses in order to prevent the repetition of such violations and respond to the needs of victims. Funding will support objectives that include building bridges among several truth and reconciliation initiatives; advancing institutional reform; addressing the challenge of reparations; and promoting justice and accountability. During the past year, the activities included providing training and advice to the president and members of the Yugoslav Truth Commission; convening a meeting in Prague with key participants; and working with the Human Rights Project of Bard College to maintain a fully accessible Internet-based archive of the audio and video materials of the trial of the former president of Yugoslavia.
