Beginning at sunset on Monday, September 9, through Wednesday, September 11, 2002 residents of Genesee County will be invited to participate in a series of events commemorating the victims and heroes of the September 11 tragedy. A community-wide service project honoring Eric Bennett, a Genesee County native who died that day, also will be held as part of the USA Act, which encourages communities to initiate a service project honoring a victim of the attack on September 11 each year. The International Institute of Flint is dedicated to promoting intercultural understanding among the people of Flint and Genesee County.
